Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to explore the narratives of new mid-life married women providing elderly care to their mothers with chronic illness in South Korea.

Methods: The participants were three middle-aged married women providing care to their mothers having chronic illness. Data were gathered through 3-4 in-depth interviews with each participant during July to October, 2021. Data were analyzed according to procedures proposed by Clandinin and Connelly (2004).

Results: Participants¡¯ experiences of family of origin when mingled with their cohort experiences act as resources or stressors in their care experiences.

Conclusions: This study explored the experiences of the middle-aged daughters who are providing elderly care for their mother, in the context of family of origin and cohort experiences. The results of this study can be used as resources for clinical intervention for daughters experiencing elderly care for their parents.
